Leicester Drone Club Rules V1.0

Timings.

Flying times have been now been agreed with the Pub.

Flying is only to take place between 15.00hrs and 17.00hrs each Sunday and only when there is a drone meet. 

You may set up from 14.45hrs but drones should not be armed for flight until 15.00hrs.  All drones must be on the ground and by 17.00hrs and no further flying can take place after this time. The Drone Club meet will end at 17.15hrs.

Drone Pilots Area

Drone Pilots – The tables are to be used to set up your drone.  Drone Pilots are requested to move away from the table area and towards the South Fence when flying.

Spectators - If you are not flying a drone then you may enter the fenced area but do not distract the pilots when they are flying.

Take-Off and Landing Area

There is now a designated Taking Off and Landing Area which is located approximately 5 metres away from the south fence of the Drone Pilots Area. Once you have positioned your drone for take-off you must move back to the Drone Pilots Area to take-off.

You must not take-off or land if there if anybody in the Take-Off and Landing Area.

When taking-off you must visually check the Take-Off and Landing Area for any hazards before taking-off. You must also check the airspace into which you want to fly to make sure it is clear of other drones.  After making these checks you must announce ‘Taking Off!’ before you do so.

When landing you must visually check the Take-Off and Landing Area is clear of hazards and check the airspace is clear of other drones before announcing ‘Landing!’ and then make a steady accent and landing.

Drone Serviceability

It is the Drone Pilot’s responsibility to make sure the drone they are flying is in a serviceable condition and that all pre flight checks are carried out before flight.

No Fly Areas

Under no circumstances must there be any flying over the Pub, Drone Pilots Area, Beer Garden or Car Park.

Children

Children under 12 are not permitted in the Drone Pilots Area unless accompanied by an adult.

Pyrotechnics

Pyrotechnics are not to be used under any circumstances.

Liability

All attendees at the Drone Meet are advised that you do so at your own risk and Leicester Drones or The Gate Hangs Well will take no responsibility for any loss or damage incurred.

Club Fees  

There will now be a nominal £2.00 fee per person for each Drone Meet.  This fee will go towards administering the drone meets.

Anybody who fails to comply with the above rules will be asked to leave the Drone Meet.

The above rules are not exhaustive and are subject to amendment.
